The White Quill is hot off the presses! Grab it and read it while it's still new!
Edit: Issue 4: Emotions, is now in two formats! PDF, the normal format, and a format for Microsoft Word and Open Office for those who don't have a PDF reader on their computers.
Don't have any of these programs, Open Office is safe and reliable and completely free! Google it.

Tell us about yourself: I am a twenty-five-ye Tell us about your writings: The first serious writing I did was the book I spent three years finishing before realizing it really, really needed help. There is currently one printed copy in existence, and honestly, I'm fine with it. Writing those 285,000 words and editing them seventeen times built my patience and skills as a writer. However, right now my greatest love is screenwriting. It's a different style and, as far as entertainment culture goes, is far ahead of just about every other genre of writing. I'm also a journalist. News writing is an entirely different beast than creative, but it has its moments, and requires a tremendous focus and sense of creativity to pull off well. If you don't believe me, read your local fish wrapper, or almost any story on the internet, and then pick up a copy of a respected paper. The differences are astounding. Which of your writings would you recommend to a fellow member? Is there anything that helps you write? Do you have any tips for members? Would you like to promote anything?

Real life is the best inspiration. Watching people, paying attention to dialect, figuring out the motivations of folks who do the same things any character would.
Oh. And [Nightshadow].
Develop a thick skin, and learn to take constructive criticism. If someone says something negative about you or work, assume it isn't personal and take something good from it. If it was personal, then you can just laugh about it. Drama is no good for anyone; trust me, it took a lot of growing up for me to understand that.
Check out my Screenwriting Clinic Contest. Screenwriting is different and rewarding; give it a try. Also, just be more active. See that poll on the left? Vote! Also, have a look at the e-zine for this month. Seriously. Do it!

Genre/Style: Rhyming Poetry
Mod's Comment:
Gothic fatalism communicated in nonstop imagery.
Roses black darken the skies with red tears
Blood splashes upon the ashes of life
Rusted shears cut the longest line of fear
Hearts bleed from the wound given by the knife
Reapers feast upon the last battle
She with the dark wings returns to the dust
Throats will dry at the end of the rattle
The Buildings of life have begun to rust
The Angels weep at their fruitless labor
For death has claimed what they have bled for
The slaves taste the dead bodies sweet flavor
Those above begin to make molds for more
Dust begins to stir violently anew
For they will again take life from you.

There is now a shout box on Main Page! (Just over there to the left) You can use this new feature to say your hellos, how are yas and what nots, even talk about your writing or reading.
Just remember that whatever you write there everyone will be able to see it, and we don't want to be reading anything inappropriate!
At the moment this particular shout box is not linked in with the WC sign on, so you will have to type in your name before you post.
Anyways enjoy, and hope you all can find a use out of it! Chat away!

As you may have noticed, and for some eagerly awaited, more genres and styles have been added to both your presentations and uploaded writings. With these additions it will be much easier to class the writings you have uploaded to WritersCo.
