2007-12-12 [RiddleRose]: ugh. it's up... if you really want to read it. the first half or so is decent i guess... at least funny, and not terrible. after about halfway though... -shudder- don't judge me. i was writing to a killer deadline. ;)

and it's about a lad and his friend who invented a drug that makes you see characters from the books his friend writes. i like the characters. all of them are fun to play with. but... well. it's a nanovel. and if you're going to read mine, reading [pirate witch]'s as well might clarify it in some ways. not that i'd particularly suggest reading mine. it is TERRIBLE. really. there are parts i'm actually ashamed to have written.

2007-12-12 [dmeredith]: That's what editing and rewriting are for. I finished my novel last (meaning 2006) Fall, so I've been revising and polishing it for over a year. It's getting close I think, but it's still not 100% ready to be sent to a publisher. Just be patient with it. Put enough time in and it will get to where you want it to be.

2007-12-16 [RiddleRose]: yeah... i think i may put the actual story on hold, because in the process of writing it, this subplot appeared randomly. it started out as a filler, and ended up being a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood... and i just ADORE it. so i think i might write that one first, then get back ot the general story.

2007-12-19 [dmeredith]: yeah. Whatever you do stay flexible. No one said you ever had to write everything in order. That's a good way to get over writers block too. If you get stuck in one place write something else, but keep writing.

2007-12-22 [dmeredith]: Just to be a total pest... ; )  I still need valiant souls to read my newest story, "The Date", and to leave comments and score. It's really short and won't take more than about 10-15 minutes of your time. The link is in a post above.

2008-12-15 [RiddleRose]: i discovered an aspect of writing that i thoroughly dislike. college essays make me want to go live in a hole in the woods for the rest of my life.

but break is in a week! and then i get delicious food, and no homework, and presents!

2008-12-16 [dmeredith]: Wanted to fly back to the States for a visit this Christmas. We haven't been home in two years after all, but the economy bites so we'll just be doing christmas here in Yamagata again. We might get snow at least though. I'm watching the weather forecasts hopefully.

2008-12-20 [RiddleRose]: my house hasn't had power for a week. we think we'll probably get it back before christmas... yay ice storms!
