Heylo. You've heard the old adage: write what you know. But let's face it: writing's way too exciting to be confined to what you already know. Research is the way to go, and this wiki will help you through a few details to get started on a topic. In some cases, you may find sufficient knowledge here to write your story.
Anybody may write articles for this wiki. There's no need to ask. Just look at the Guidelines first.
2006-06-09 [Athilea]: I think I might be able to do an article on Dragons. I'll have to go through some of the things I have, but I'll be sure to give credit to the books I use if you want me to write the article. *looks sheepishly and blushes*
2006-06-13 [Kiddalee]: YaY!
2006-06-14 [Athilea]: So, can I do the article on Dragons?
2006-06-14 [Kiddalee]: You don't have to ask.
2006-06-15 [Athilea]: Okay, I just wanted to be sure you didn't have someone else doing it. I will get something up soon.
2006-06-15 [Kiddalee]: Okies.
2006-06-16 [Nightshadow]: [Athilea], if multiple people post on the same subject, then that's perfectly okay. They'll treat the subject differently. One may have a special interest in the history and development of dragon lore, another may like common forms and form theory, others may like wing dynamics, and still others may dwell on physical possibilities and impossibilitie
2006-06-16 [Kiddalee]: Though their titles shoult reflect these distinctions for organisational purposes.
2006-06-16 [Athilea]: *nods* K, I'll make sure to get something up.
2006-06-17 [Kiddalee]: Wootz!
2006-06-17 [Nightshadow]: Sometimes, Kiddalee. It can't always, as emphases aren't normally intentional. ;) Plenty of people try to hit every point, but no one hits all equally.
2006-06-17 [Kiddalee]: Good point.
2006-06-19 [Anninja]: See what I've written ^ยท^ TD - Violin
2006-06-19 [Kiddalee]: ***clickies* Edit: ***likes*
2006-07-15 [Calliope]: I know most people won't use it but it annoyed me when it was wrong in a book lol. It ended up kinda longer than I planned though....
2008-04-18 [RiddleRose]: hmm... i could probably do something on ballroom/partn
2008-04-27 [Kiddalee]: This may sound discouraging, but I'm not sure what to do with the TD project. Do you feel that it does anything that Wikipedia doesn't do better?
2008-05-20 [SilverFire]: Depends. Wikipedia can be wrong quite a lot. It's cool as a place to start research, to find out where you should be looking, but if you look for info on, say, the subject you're doing a degree in, then you'll notice a lot of mistakes.
2008-05-20 [Mister Saint]: I actually feel that this project is more useful for the writers of articles than readers. I know that when I did the swords article I found there was a lot I didn't know, and went into deeper research on the subject as a result. Forced study?
2008-06-02 [Kiddalee]: Good idea. Maybe a goal change is in order.
2008-06-02 [Kiddalee]: On second thought, maybe the current goal attracts more people even though forced study is a great benefit.
